TBL Season 10: Some of the Same, Some New Stuff, & a Couple of Surprises

Last night the second episode of season 10 of The Biggest Loser proved to me that even though there were some changes to the game, the show itself is pretty much the same ol’ same ol’.

The Same-
Dangerous Stunts. As usual the show started off with inappropriate challenges for the severely obese, de-conditioned contestants. Since what doesn’t kill someone is fair game they continued to make the applicants run one mile to get on the show. Bob said we should all be able to run one mile. That’s true in a perfect world, because in a perfect world there wouldn’t be obesity.

Online Fitness Tribes

Competition can be a good thing. Sometimes it can be bad too, like two little kids racing to be first in line. Then one trips, falls, scrapes his knee, starts to wail and cry and blame the other kid.

Another not so good situation is someone adopting a favorite fitness program, based on whatever personal preference- it’s simplicity, the equipment used, how little time required, a celebrity’s endorsement, or possible riches from it’s affiliate program- then go on a crusade to bash every other form of fitness or training under the sun.
