Pilates Home Exercise Equipment on a Budget

Ouch! Pilates equipment is expensive. I’m not talking about rings, balls, bands and the like. I’m talking about the big stuff: reformers, chairs, tower set-ups. But a lot of us want those pieces as home exercise equipment. We’re working out on them at the studio and we’re thinking how great it would be to follow up at home.

Well, a short trip around the internet is going to reveal that a studio grade reformer is going to cost you over $3,000.00, and the high quality portable home reformers are not a whole lot less. Chair and tower set-ups are a little more affordable, but still seriously pricey.

Now let me take this moment to say that Pilates equipment is expensive for a reason. It’s generally very well made, and intended for intensive use. If you can afford it, go for it. But for those of you looking for budget friendly alternatives, I’ve put together a list of some of the most popular brands of “inexpensive” Pilates home exercise equipment. I’m suggesting you look at these because they are among the more affordable ones I know of, and because I’ve heard good reports - not because I have them myself. Although, my list for Santa isn’t too long - yet.
